45 Turkish Companies Join ENR’s Global Top 250 Ranking

(MENAFN) A total of 45 Turkish construction firms have secured spots on the Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s 2025 Top 250 International Contractors list, the Turkish Trade Ministry announced Friday.

The number marks an increase from last year’s 43, reflecting Türkiye’s strengthened position in the global construction arena. “China ranks first with 76 companies, followed by Türkiye with 45 — the value of global projects the 45 Turkish contractors undertook last year reached $20.8 billion,” the Ministry said in its official statement.

The data places Türkiye second globally in terms of the number of firms featured, while Chinese contractors dominated the rankings with a cumulative international project value of $127.4 billion.

Turkish companies collectively accounted for 4.2% of the total value of all projects undertaken by the top 250 global firms—positioning Türkiye ninth in global project volume, ahead of countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany.

“Eight Turkish companies made it into the top 100 on the 2025 list,” according to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

Despite the overall increase in representation, the Ministry noted that the global construction market faced headwinds. “The total project value of the top 250 global contractors climbed only 0.5% to $501.2 billion due to political uncertainties, rising labor and land costs,” it noted.

The Ministry emphasized the broader impact of Turkish contractors worldwide: “As of today, Turkish contractors undertook a total of 12,641 projects worth over $544.9 billion in 137 countries since 1972 … through bilateral contracts and trade delegations in key markets like Libya, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, we are supporting the contracting sector, while also aiming to play an active role in the reconstruction of Ukraine and Syria,” the statement said.

In addition to construction, Turkish firms also made strides in design. Eight Turkish engineering companies were featured on ENR’s Top 225 International Design Firms list, underscoring Türkiye’s growing influence in the global infrastructure sector.
